EARLY MODELS
Click on your model below to see the model's details.
Models released prior to 2017 were designed to run the light playback applications that prevailed at the time, such as Squeeze and MPD, and they were designed to perform both the Server and Player functions.
Models sold prior to 2014 used 32-bit processors and so cannot be upgraded to use the current software suite. They are restricted to running the Vortexbox software suite. The suppliers of Vortexbox software no longer provide support and updates, but these music servers can still be used.
Even early 64-bit processor models can have problems running the latest server applications from Roon and HQPlayer, due to the computation power required.
For these reasons, the early models are suited, either for use with Squeeze or MPD, or for running only the Player application (using a more powerful device for the server app).
If you have an early model, we highly recommend that you contact us, or book an appointment to discuss possible trade-in options.
